Hot Water Crust Pastry
This is such an easy pastry I wish I’d discovered it years ago.
Recipe adjusted from Paul Hollywood’s for US audiences
Sift the flour into a bowl. Rub the butter cubes into the flour to make a breadcrumb consistency.
Melt the crisco in the hot water and salt. Pour the liquid into the bowl and form into a ball of dough.
Knead briefly until it's smooth.
