Praha, Czech Republic

Praha, or Prague as it is known in the English-speaking world, is a city that no web page will ever be able to depict.

When I went on my Interrail trip it was the first time I had visited Prague. I took 10 rolls of film with me on my trip (it was 1994, a digital camera would have weighed more than my rucksack), and used FIVE of them in the three days I was in Prague. An absolutely beautiful city.

I returned to the city of golden spires a number of times after that. I visited so often I memorised the recorded announcement used on the Metro system every time a train was about to leave the station:

Ukončete prosím výstup a nástup, dveře se zavírají. Příští stanice: ...

The last time I was there was in 2009, things have changed a lot in 15 years, such as the invasion of British, American and German corporations, but Prague is still Prague.

I won't even try to describe the place. Just go. Take my word for it.
